DMW&H’s Client REI Wins Productivity Achievement Award
A Third Client Wins Modern Materials Handling’s Annual Awards
Carlstadt, NJ – March 17, 2017 – DMW&H, a full-service integrator of material handling systems and solutions, announces that REI has won a Productivity Achievement Award from Modern Materials Handling magazine. This is the third DMW&H client to win this prestigious award. Modern Materials Handling’s annual Productivity Achievement Awards honors companies that have made exceptional operational improvement through material handling systems. REI’s new distribution center in Goodyear, Arizona, where DMW&H acted as the solutions provider and supplied a Direct-to-Consumer Tilt Tray Sortation and Warehouse Execution System (WES), was chosen because it brings next generation material handling and sustainability into one facility.
Each year, MMH’s editorial team selects finalists for the Productivity Achievement Awards from among the monthly system reports published by Modern Materials Handling in the previous year. A panel of industry experts then reviews the finalists in each category, selects a winner and explains his or her thoughts on what set each winning company apart.
Finalists in the Manufacturing and Warehousing/Distribution categories are recognized for their ability to provide outstanding customer service, quickly respond to changing business conditions, deliver orders that meet customer requirements, and improve operations. The Innovation category recognizes a company that successfully employed a solution that defies convention. In addition to achievements in productivity, throughput or efficiency, winners were also judged on how projects inside the four walls enable or complement the broader business objectives of the company.
“We are honored that three of our clients have found greater value, productivity and efficiencies from our systems design and implementations,” said Joe Colletti, President and CEO of DMW&H. “This recognition is a testament to our goal of using the best equipment and software to meet the strategic goals of our clients. For REI, one award judge said it all, ‘REI has taken innovation to the next level with their new DC. They have not only looked at what they need for best-in-class distribution to their customers, but also the impacts they can have on their employees and the environment.’”
This is DMW&H’s third client to win a Productivity Achievement Award from Modern Materials Handling. In 2014, Wirtz Beverage was honored for consolidating three warehouses into one new, state-of-the-art facility. DMW&H was the material handling systems integrator that led the Wirtz project. In 2012, DMW&H designed and implemented a material handling system that incorporated a warehouse control system, voice picking technology, a high-speed unit sortation system, conveyor systems, and a shipping sorter for The Oriental Trading Company, helping them achieve a 45% increase in productivity and a 60% reduction in pick errors.
DMW&H designs, integrates, installs and supports complex material handling systems for the industrial, food/beverage, wine & spirits, parcel and retail industries. Delivering a Total Warehouse Solution with a wide range of material handling equipment, DMW&H continues to lead the industry in competitive services and pricing to the mid-level market, priding itself on bringing projects in on time and under budget, along with creating systems matched to individual customer needs. By combining some of the industry’s best talent with the size, reputation and corporate capabilities of the Dearborn Mid-West and W&H Systems brands, DMW&H is primed for continued rapid growth.
